I am a New Zealand registered nurse and nutritionist (Grad Cert Sci: nutrition, Massey Univ). I am a Certified Zone Instructor, and have worked teaching Zone diet principles to hundreds of clients over the last 10 years. More recently after finding that eating Paleo food choices was the "icing on the cake" health wise, I have become a Paleo enthusiast and teacher. Follow me on twitter @juliannejtaylor

I'm off to the Ancestral Health Symposium

Just about everyone in the paleo world is descending on UCLA to be at the first ever Ancestral Health Symposium on the 5th and 6th August.

Paleo eating has made such a difference to my life, and I’m excited to be meeting or at least listening to many of the people who have taught and inspired me on this journey. One of our very own Kiwi Paleo nutritionist Jamie Scott is speaking there too!

And just a wee update on my thyroid disease after 30 days eating an auto-immune paleo prescription. I have Hashimotos i.e auto-immune thyroid disease. I don’t take medication and mostly have no symptoms. After 30 days my thyroid seems to be better, i.e. it is not enlarged, I’ve got a plenty of energy and I’ve lost a couple of niggling pounds – without starving myself. Even better my TSH is the lowest it’s been since I was first diagnosed 2 years ago. Not perfect but almost normal. So I’ll keep this eating plan going. It will be a challenge in LA I’m sure – and I won’t be turning down a glass of wine.
